Improving the Impact of Adverse Media Screening for Fintech Companies

The accelerating flow of news has presented both opportunities and challenges for risk and compliance professionals looking to utilise adverse media for customer screening. On the one hand, adverse media is an expansive source that can help surface potential criminals not found in traditional PEP and sanctions lists. On the other, it can be seen as a strain on resources. So, what approach are fintech companies taking and are they even utilising adverse media at all?

In this report, the FinTech FinCrime Exchange (FFE) and RDC present findings and analysis from a survey of 39 leading fintech companies across the UK, US and Netherlands exploring usage of adverse media.
